Dishy enamelware has an enamel surface which is durable and scratch resistant. It is suitable for use on gas and electric hobs, and is oven safe to 270°C. The enamelware is also dishwasher safe and has a five year warranty.
Caring for your enamelware:
Minor surface irregularities and unfinished edges are a normal result of the metal working and enameling process. Though durable and strong, enamelware like any good ceramic can experience scratching and dulling over time and use. We like to think this adds to the character and charm of these old school classics. To keep signs of wear to a minimum, some love and care is required.
Do not scrub the enamel surface with abrasive materials. Lemon juice can remove stains from enamelware products, such as tea stains on mugs. Soaking the products in warm soapy water will help remove baked on food. Coating your pans in a light layer of oil before cooking can help with cleaning after use.
Do not allow enamelware to boil dry. It may damage the enamel surface.
If enamelware should be left empty on a hot burner or in a heated oven, switch off and allow to cool slightly before adding liquid.
Enamelware is still safe to use even after experiencing chips from being dropped or roughly handled. When this happens the steel below naturally oxidizes and the enamelware remains safe to use.
